Escrow Agent
In the content of a life settlement transaction, an escrow agent performs the duty of holding the funds while the policy ownership is being changed to a new owner. Once the change of ownership has been confirmed with the insurance company, the funds are released to the previous owner. The escrow agent is (or should be) a disinterested third part financial institutions.
